Why should drawing matter in the digital age we live in when most design can be achieved on a screen?
It is the wibblyness of a hand drawn line that makes a certain mark unique to an individual. This is as fundamental to identity as handwriting or the sound of a voice. All it needs is some practice and encouragement for it to flourish and be able to express the widest range of human emotions.
What will I learn?
Whether you choose to specialise in Drawing or Painting you will be supported in your chosen field and should reach goal of at least one finished piece of work at the end of each day. You will lean to use perspective and learn how to depict the anatomy of movement in animals and people. We will be roaming the farm, gardens and interior of Shankill Castle to get ideas and inspiration.
Is this workshop for me?
This workshop is ideal for all abilities. Phoebe works with all age groups and abilities including professional artists looking to hone their skills, students developing their portfolios and beginners looking for guidance and confidence.
Phoebe Cope is an award winning artist who studied at Ruskin School of Fine Art, Oxford University and the Royal Drawing School, London. She has shown in the RA and the RHA. Her latest exhibit is a self-portrait in the Ruth Borchard Prize Collection at Piano Nobile Kings Place, London.
